The graph shows that in1999 prior to the introduction
of the R.E.A.D. programme, of the 33 students entering Grade One,
approximately 75% were non-readers. With the implementation of
the programme, significant improvement was evident by 2004 where
of the 50 students participating in the programme, approximately
84% of these students entering Grade One were reading at and above
their grade levels.
