EQUITY TRADING

Since 1998 the Jamaica Stock Exchange instituted the Jamaica Central Securities Depository which acts as custodian for your shares. Immediately on settlement day (which is now 3 days after purchase) your account is electronically credited with shares which you bought. Thereafter the Depository will send to you statements of your account and the respective company Registrars will pay dividends to you directly.

When you wish to sell, Barita will activate your account at the depository, after receiving instructions from you, and selling is that simple.
