TRUSTEE INFORMATION

What is a Trustee?

The Trustee is a corporate body independent of the Managers, governed by the Trust Deed and the Superintendent of Unit Trusts. The Trustee's duties include acting as a custodian of the investments, cash and income of the Fund. First Caribbean International Securities Ltd. is the Trustee for Barita's Money Market and Capital Growth Funds.

Assets in the Money Market and Capital Growth Funds are held by an independent Trustee - First Caribbean International Securities Ltd. , as prescribed by the Trust Deed. Under the Trust Deed, the investments and cash must be registered in the name of and held by a Trustee on behalf of the unit holders. The Trustee is bound by Trust Deeds to keep the investments and cash as directed by the Trust Deeds. This means that your funds are 100% secured and segregated from Barita as well as First Caribbean.

What is a Trust Deed?

A Trust Deed is the legal document under which Funds are formed and registered, and has to be approved by the Financial Services Commission before the public can be invited to participate.

The Trust Deed is the instrument that binds the Managers (Barita Unit Trust Management Co. Ltd.) to manage and promote the Funds, and the Trustees (First Caribbean International Securities Ltd.) to be the custodian and guardian of the Funds, and outlines the obligations of each party.

Where can I see the Trust Deed?

The Trust Deed is a matter of public record, and is available from the Managers of Barita Unit Trusts as well as the Financial Services Commission's Office.

The Offering Circulars for the Funds also contains most of the contents of the Trust Deed, and are provided free of cost to investors.
